Great Bay Bio is a 2D animation showcasing the client’s three AI-driven platforms—AlfaBody, AlfaCell, and AlfaOPA.

Great Bay Bio offers a suite of AI-driven drug discovery platforms designed to transform traditional R&D, manufacturing, and controls workflows during the early drug development. The primary challenge of this film was to effectively communicate all three platforms in a single video. To address this, we conducted multiple rounds of interviews and discussions with the client to thoroughly understand the science behind each platform. Once we secured the script, our next hurdle was explaining the complex science in a clear and engaging way, ensuring the audience could follow along without losing interest. We devoted significant time to the storyboarding process, sketching the film shot by shot. A key visual motif we used was a small ball, symbolizing the early drug prototype, which moves through each platform for refinement. This helped unify the three platforms into a cohesive narrative. We also focused on smooth transitions between scenes, highlighting the seamless integration of the platforms and ensuring a clear progression through the three-platform workflow. In addition to the technical aspects, we placed great emphasis on creating visually compelling elements that would capture the audience’s interest and make the science more digestible. The use of dark purple tones and ocean-inspired sound design further enhanced the video's immersive experience. Since its completion, the film has been showcased at several client events, including livestreams and in-person meetings.
